Current Vacancy: SOCIAL WORKER – SEXUAL OFFENCES Mosaic Training, Service and Healing Centre for Women seeks to employ a Social Worker with a minimum of 3 years experience, preferably in the field of gender-based violence at Simelela Centre for Survivors of Sexual Violence, Site B, Khayelitsha Salary: Level 7 Commencement date: As soon as possible Requirements: An appropriate recognized Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (or equivalent qualification).Registration with the SA Council for Social Service Professions. Driver’s license and own transport is essential. Willingness to travel. Proficiency in at least two of the official provincial languages Key Responsibilities: Assist the project manager in leading and managing the organisation’s programmes. Implement, monitor and evaluate programmes for effective intervention strategies. Supervise and mentor staff. Participate in all training and staff development/ meetings. Network with stakeholders. Record keeping, report writing and other administrative duties. Render a qualitative, specialized, social work service with regard to the care, support, protection and development of sexually abused / vulnerable individuals (especially child victims of sexual assault), families and communities as needed. Competencies needed: Knowledge, understanding and practical experience of working with gender-based violence, the Sexual Offences Act, the Domestic Violence Act and other relevant legislation and policies of GBV and Sexual Offences. The ability to provide statutory and supportive social work services, Skills in: Planning, organizing, leading, communication (written, verbal and presentation) conflict management, facilitation (essential), counselling, monitoring and evaluation, networking, client orientation, report writing , project management, computer literacy, excellent people management and interpersonal relations, experience in conducting supervision and mentoring,.
